How Big An Ass Is Glenn Beck?
I've never watched him, but Overlawyered's Walter Olson Tweeted a link to this unbelievable rant, "Atheists To Blame For All Of America's Problems":

As Doug Mataconis writes on Below The Beltway: "Yea, it has nothing to do with all those religious people who've, you know, actually been in charge of the country all these years."

Beck never said "Atheists To Blame For All Of America's Problems" (but somebody tweeted it, therefore it must be true). Nevertheless, overly simplistic generalizations and stereotyping are an effective propaganda tool.

What made America great was not just Christianity but also Capitalism, the family (including fathers), and The Constitution. The only one of those that has not been redefined out of existence today is Capitalism, and now that the Communists are out of the closet we could all be living and dying like peasants and slaves very very soon.

Umm, Chris - when was the Emancipation Proclamation written?

And what was happening in the North during that time frame?

And when was the women's sufferage movement?

Sorry, but one pithy fact about a time period, while discounting the rest of history does not make you a wise man - just a sound-bite wisdom guy.

If you were to ask a black man, say in Alabama, he may argue that man's wisdom is capable of some pretty good things. It was after all before the separation of state and religion that we had separation of black and white.

That is where conseratives always go wrong In my opinion. They are right already without bringing god into it.
  • Actually, it's been since the 50's when the Supreme Court ruled in the separation of state and religion.

We took moral absolutes out. We took out all the basic moral codes. It was replaced by man's "wisdom" - the ability to argue anything as "having an equal point of view".

    Personally, I agree with him.
